The right valve for every application

The investments of Barra Project International Srl are geared towards constant research and ongoing experimentation with new concepts in rapid discharge valves to be used either as air cannon heads or as firing tips that are independent to the /PPI system.

The fire valve, upon being fed with pressure from the network's fluid, allows the storage tank to be filled with pressurized fluid. In the event of a lack of input feed, the rapid drainage of the valve core opens thus creating a shock-wave.

We can identify two main types of valves:

  • Valves that are external to the tank and are stand-alone finished products, independent of the tank and that can be used both in traditional cannon systems or in /PPI Pick-Power-Impulser systems. They can be connected by coupling flanges or thread to storage tanks suitable to this function. Tanks must comply with the provisions of pertinent laws and dimensional calculations should take into account the repeated fatigue stresses to which they will be exposed during normal usage.
    Both valves with metal alloy obturators and valves with elastomer obturators are fall into this category.
  • Valves that internal to the tank are products in which the custom tank is an integrated part of the valve. When used in traditional cannon systems this considerably contains the size of the cannon, practically reducing the system's volume to the size of the tank.

IThe various models of valves for compressed fluids now produced and marketed by Barra Project International Srl are distinguishable from each other based on the different technical aspects adopted in the design of the main obturator valve. The obturator constitutes of the element which opens or occludes the principal outflow route that connects the storage tank of the pressurized fluid with the end use.
