/CRONO START VALVES

For the firing point remote activation (up to 9 metres)

Each fire valve can be activated through a machineside command or at distance.

 

In the case of manual control, the assembly of a solenoid valve command at the machineside requires having an operator in close proximity to the cannon activating it manually: manual activation is certanly slower than an electrical activation. In case the cannons were not easily accessible by the operator, it is easy to imagine the difficulties this would cause in terms of both security and management.

 

Remote control activation is the most widespread solution in almost all the cannons systems and the /PPI Pick-Power-Impulser systems; having all the solenoid valves in control panels is essential for the centralized management of the structures and allows the realization of safe, efficient, organized and easy to manage systems.

However, the removal of the solenoid on-off valve inevitably introduces load losses within sending and receiving the firing signal, actually reducing the disintegration force of the blast wave generated at the firing point. To fix this drawback, Barra Project International Srl has developed the CRONO start valve, thanks to which it is possible to reduce such load losses to negligible levels.

 

The CRONO valve has the basic function of reducing the main obturator valve opening time during the ignition phase allowing the placement of the solenoid command valve up to a max 9 m far from the point of firing.

 

Given the simplicity of this component, in recent years Barra Project International Srl focused on the incorporation of this device directly into fire valves: the valve models that already incorporate the CRONO device can be identified by the initials CR.

The CRONO start valves are available in the following models:

CRONO 19 cup shaped obturators for application in areas:
ZF  (-10°C, +60°C)  cold zone, up to room temperature 
ZC (-10°C, +100°C) hot zone
HT (-10°C, +100°C) high temperatures and high corrosion zone
CRONO 20 diaphragm obturator FOM for application in areas:
ZF  (-10°C, +60°C)  cold zone, up to room temperature
ZC (-10°C, +100°C) hot zone
CRONO 25 diaphragm obturator FOM for application in areas:
ZF  (-10°C, +60°C)  cold zone, up to room temperature
