BARRA PROJECT Case History

Reduction of dust developed when material falls from a conveyor belt
Sector: WOOD AND PAPER INDUSTRY
Problem

Generation of wood dust in the belt drop areas as material passes on the conveyor belt. Typically treated materials: wood chips, cardboard/paper dust.

Solution

Once the technical inspection had been carried out, two points identified as strategic for reducing dust emissions were equipped with AIROX nebulisation points. Equipped critical points:

  • Discharge into main hopper with shovel: installation of DANCERFOG rotating nebulization modules
  • Belt transfer stations: depending on the height of the fall and the level of dust emission detected, 7 AIROX IMPACT M series nebulizers were installed.

The attachment of the nebulizers was made with

  • our fixing caps in cases where protective fairings were already present
  • our AIROX brackets for installation in open structures.

Thanks to the fine micronization (atomization) of AIROX IMPACT, the consumption of compressed air and water is minimal: the standard operating conditions require the use of water at a pressure of 0.2÷1.5 and air at 2.5÷3bar. The quantity of water necessary for micronization is infinitesimal: this means that the nebulization of AIROX does not involve a change in the humidity conditions of the material.

Typically treated materials: wood chips, cardboard/paper dust.
